Unable to zoom

Hi there,

I'm running into a weird error on one of my machines -- Gephi won't zoom. The mousewheel won't respond, and changing the zoom slider in the panel won't do anything.

The machine in question is running Windows 7 x64 (jre7), with 3gb of memory (gephi is using between 256mb and 1gb), an i3, and intel gma x4500 chipset.

My other machine, which is also Windows 7 x64 with jre7, has 4gb of memory, an i5, and a discrete Radeon 4850. I could see why I might be GPU-limited here, but it doesn't make sense to me that the program wouldn't zoom at all.

Any thoughts? This is a ~12,000 node graph. I appreciate it!

Been doing some testing on this, and it seems like the less powerful machine stops being able to zoom on graphs with over ~8000 nodes. I've verified that it's not running out of memory.

Hi,

I'm having a similar problem. I have a powerful machine and 1380 nodes. At first, I have no problem using zoom. But after I start working with the graph, the zoom will stop working, either using the mouse or the bar. I can't figure out a way to enable it again and end up having to re-create the graph from scratch. I can't figure out exactly how to reproduce the problem. Is anyone else having this issue?

Same problem here. Since mine is verey small network the size of the network should not be the problem.

Any help is apreciated.

Hi everybody,

from the number of views it seems quite a few people have that problem (granted, the thread started in 2012). Has any one come up with a solution to the problem?

thanks in advance

Frieder

I'm still having the issue: the only workaround I've come up with is to save frequently so as to roll back when it happens.

Hi all,

interestingly the Zoom Slider works just fine....it's just that it does not work with the mouse wheel/pad

all the best

I'm trying Gephi out for the first time and I am having this issue. Initially, everything works fine. But, after I run a layout algorithm for a few moments, then (and this seems to be consistent, after I click on "center on graph", I lose all zooming functionality from mouse pad to the zoom slider in Gephi. I am running Windows 8 64-bit, JDK 1.7u40, and all on a new ASUS Zenbook Prime UX51 running Gephi 0.8.2 beta. - Erich

I am also unable to zoom consistently when using the slider zoom feature. It seems I get to zoom in once, but then further toggling with the zoom slider does nothing :(

I'm using a laptop and the touchpad without a mouse (most of the time). Where is this zoom slider on the screen?
